What's a good place to get ears pierced?

HTC Tempe is where I go, they're fantastic. I've been pierced or had my ears stretched at least once by everyone there, and they're all phenomenal. I always request Kat if she's in, but am never disappointed when I find out who is working.

When I first visited their shop, I really knew nothing about piercings. I had been getting pierced at Clare's as a kid and upgraded to not so great studios my friends recommended when I wanted my lip and tongue pierced. When I asked questions or referenced a previous experience, they were really friendly with answering my questions and explaining "why" for what they were doing, what products were being used and why, and explained why their recommended aftercare was different than what I had been told before. At other shops I felt like asking questions lead to being treated like I was talking down to my piercer. They got hostile, like "who are you to question me". At HTC they just understood that I was new to this and just interested in information about it. You can tell that education is an important aspect to their business, and they care about the health and safety of their clients.

The customer service side is what keeps me coming back, and why I won't go anywhere else. Here are some other reasons why they're awesome.

  • For steel they only carry implant grade and can tell you why it's different than surgical and stainless. They have a wide range in jewelry materials and colors but do not carry low quality crap.

  • They'll always change your jewelry for free, and if you're stretching they'll put the next size in for you for free (provided that the jewelry was purchased from them)

  • The shop is really clean, and the piercers change their gloves frequently.

  • The employees who work the counter know their shit, too.

  • If you are concerned about something going on with your piercing they'll take a look at it immediately.

I had removed 7 piercings done elsewhere due to complications before visiting HTC. I've has 6 done at that shop and had my ears stretched. All 8 piercings are still in, healed well, and had little/no issues during healing. Finding a good piercing shop is important, and there is a lot more to it than I realized before I really joined the bodymod community.

I hope my answer was helpful and not too lengthy. I think the way you asked your question (you were looking for a specific place, rather than what to look for in a shop) is why your post was downvoted. Don't be afraid to keep asking questions, just be sure to also read the sidebar and subreddit as well. It's common to get downvoted if the proper etiquette isn't used, but there's always someone willing to offer information on the matter.
