Went to top rated piercing shop in my city, got really questionable advice

yeah, I get that bioplast is meant for a healed piercing, I was thinking of protection against tooth damage for after it's healed. I thought that because it's a softer material than teeth, minor contact won't damage the teeth. Obviously it's still harder than gums so if it were to touch my gums it would cause damage there. The piercing shop was telling me it will damage my teeth and my gums, just as any other material will, no matter what.

Their complete disregard of placement and anatomy having any effect on the degree of damage was concerning, and now I'm wondering if they bothered to place it carefully at all being that they seem to not believe it makes a difference.

I feel like they were trying to make a point that a mouth piercing isn't to be taken lightly and isn't 100% without consequence even with the right precautions, which is understandable but shouldn't stop them from mentioning those precautions anyway, especially since I already have it lol

Thanks for the aftercare advice, I'm going to start using a saline solution and stop using the listerine. What is your opinion on the ointment?
