What's a middle life crisis for people who could never afford a sports car?

Here's the thing about fishing. It's not about the how expensive your gear is. It's knowing how to catch fish. I say this mainly as a bass fisher but I can catch quite a few species on demand in fresh and salt water. I'll look at posts in r/bassfishing that are like what rod and reel can I get for less than $500 just starting out. Well I've never bought a rod and real combined that cost over a hundred and I can out fish pretty much anyone there and if I can't I guarantee you it's not because of the rod or reel. It's technique, knowing where fish are, knowing what they're feeding on. It's not having some $200 rod and $300 reel because it's faster. Most of the shit for fishermen is to catch the fishermen not the fish.
