What's the scariest situation you've been in?

Almost got jumped by a really drunk guy. I was with my girlfriend and a few of her friends, trying to walk somewhere to get food. A drunk guy and his pals came around a corner and he seemed to single me out- maybe because I was the only dude, maybe because I was the closest, who knows.

He was yelling shit like "I'm gonna fucking kill you," "I'm gonna beat the shit out of you," etc. I was 17 and like 120 pounds, dude would have snapped me like a twig. I held my hands up and told him I didn't want any trouble but that didn't seem to dissuade him.

I had a little knife on me so I sorta brandished it at him and yelled something along the lines of "GET THE FUCK BACK OR I'M GONNA FUCKING GUT YOU," trying to intimidate him, luckily my voice didn't crack! It really scared the guy. One of his friends was like "Oh shit, he's got a knife!" and the other said "Whoa, he's just drunk." I tried to be as assertive as possible and told them that we were walking away, and not to follow us. That was the end of it.

Really shook me up for a few days and I'm so lucky it didn't escalate. Nobody wins in knife fights. That's really what fight-or-flight instinct feels like, I guess.
