When I was younger, me and a few buds were at a party. My family has had a horrible addiction crisis, and my mom has always steered me away from drugs and alcohol because of it. My dad died when I was young too, due to his addiction. So, back to the party. Some of my friends were drinking, and as I reached for a drink (this was about maybe 8th grade, and I was trying to seem cool in front of high schoolers) and some big frat dude turns at me, does a nod like he’s saying “not cool man” and gestures his hand that I put the drink down. I did, but when I looked back he wasn’t there. He looked familiar, but I couldn’t place my thumb on it. And then, cut to a few years later and my moms showing my brothers girlfriend their wedding album. But my mom also had some pictures of her college days, and don’t you know it, a picture of my dad is in there and he looked exactly like the disappearing frat boy.
