I think it's hard to top the sheer hype/anticipation/buzz around the beta and the first foray into the world. Even with the server issues and other technical glitches. That initial gameplay was really well presented and left me salivating for more.

But that excitement did drop off very fast afterward when the full game was released. I had fun playing co-op with friends for the first week or so. Each Act had highlights and the story was good. But the vanilla experience had so many issues with balance and the Auction House really sucked the fun out of the game fast.

Put it down until Reaper of Souls and I'd say the time around RoS and the first few Seasons was another highlight.

Last time I played the game was I think Season 9 and I felt like it was in a good place and Greater Rifts were compelling but by then I'd played it enough that it was time to move on.

Excited for what's next though.
