Who is the worst "attention whore" you've come across?

In 7th grade, 1988, my friends forced me to ask this girl to be my girlfriend, even though I didn't really like her that way. It was just because everyone else was getting girlfriends, so I had to as well. Middle school peer pressure. I asked her, she said yes. We held hands one time, but we would talk on the phone for hours, (she would play Rob Base in the background). It was pretty lame. That's as far as it went. We eventually stopped calling each other, and in high school, we ran in different crowds. We were always friendly to each other though in the hallways and such.

Years and years later, it occurred to me we never officially broke up. I get nice chuckles when I tell friends I'm still technically with my 7th grade gf, that it's my longest relationship, etc.

Fast forward to 2014. I attend my 20 year high school reunion. There she is! We walk up to each other, hug, and I say "hey we never officially broke up." Immediately she said "I know! That occurred to me several years ago! Well then, I've cheated on you soooo many times." So I said that I have too, and that we should officially break up. So she playfully screamed "FINE!" And I was like "GOOD!" And for the rest of the night we playfully pretended to be angry and hurt, and we even got other attendees to play along, just to make it seem like a real 7th grade breakup. Her friends would come up to me and say stuff like "you broke her heart...you should ask her back out." I'd hang out with my boys on the other side of the dancefloor. It was pretty hilarious. 25th reunion is next weekend. I hope to see her there. Maybe we'll get back together.

S+J 1988-2014.
