Look, Look. This debate is really just gunna boil down to two things- Okay?

Proposition: We want more representation!

Opposition: No one cares!

So let’s settle some things. It’s very hard to explain why someone should care about representation.

“We want representation!”

“Why?”

“Because it’s important that different skin tones are shown to us in our media.”

“But why? Literally why?”

See- not gunna go anywhere. The only dead end there is to this is-

“Because it makes us happy.”

So then frankly there’s only stakes for one party. The other is objecting on principle alone. Because they can’t see the basis on which the other party places their argument.

In conclusion, there’s no sense trying to explain why representation in a video game has any objective value, from the outside looking in; your argument -if not initially empathized with- doesn’t have any value. On the other hand, no one can convince you it doesn’t have value.
