My grandma got mine cleaned and packed away and I didn’t really know what to do with it since I moved so frequently. Since at the time it was really hard to find larger size dresses, I posted it on Craigslist free and immediately had 40 offers. A lady wrote me and told me she was getting married for the first time at age 39 and was short on cash so it would help, and she came and picked it up that night. I figured whether it worked out or not, it did her more good than me. I’ve met a lot of awesome people through free or barter posts on Craigslist, including a lady who traded me a bunch of plants and hand-decorated terra-cotta pots and yogurts for my old vacuum and and a guy who gave me a bunch of bread and fresh veggies for my Batman: Gotham Knights comic collection.
