[WP] Your job is to open and close a door all day. Anything can appear on the other side. Your partner documents the results.

"This is my fucking job?" Joseph asked his new boss. "Opening and shutting a door?" "Yes," the foreman replied with a knowing smile, "it is your job to open and close this door all day. Your partner Hector there is going to be taking notes." "I just don't understand..." He said helplessly. "Look." and he put his arms on Joseph's shoulders. "Just trust me a bit here. You're going to open the door a few times and you're going to be just as confused as you are now. Give it a couple goes and you'll understand. I promise. Hector has been working here for over 15 years, he'll provide you everything you need." Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked out, leaving poor Joseph still confused and now quite alone in the room. He was standing in some kind of interrogation room. There was no table. A one-way mirror ran the length of one wall. Joseph had just been on the other side of that mirror and though he could no longer see him, he knew Hector was standing there among terminals and displays. His boss had just exited the room through the main door, clicking the lock behind him. Facing the one-way mirror was the mysterious door which he would soon be opening and closing. Joseph glanced at the fourth wall, devoid of any features, and wondered how many rooms like this one existed in this massive facility. "Ready to rock?" came Hector's staticky voice through the intercom. "Guess so..." Joseph started toward the door then stopped. He turned to face the mirror. "But I just don't understand why I have to be the one to open the door. Why can't you open it? And why does there have to be a one-way mirror between us?" "Listen man," he patiently explained, "if we told you this whole story right now - and believe me we've tried it before - but you just..." Hector trailed off for a moment, then sighed before continuing. "There's no way you would believe it and you would have walked away. If you want to understand, you just need to open the damn door. As soon as you get your first one, I'll answer all your questions. I promise." Joseph sighed and approached the door, apprehensive. He placed his fingers on the handle, hesitated, and asked "Ready?" "Ready when you are, Joe." And he opened the door.
