Thao Lam (1997, Louisiana, 2 victims)

On February 4, 1997, Lam, who was in love with Han Truong and was angry that she was about to be married to another man, went to her family's home as they prepared for the wedding. He started arguing with Han's father, 57-year-old Dat Truong, and her cousin, Phuong Tu Tran.

Lam then pulled out a gun and shot both of them, killing Dat Truong and wounding Tran. When Han came running down the stairs, he shot and killed her, too. He also shot and wounded Han's mother, Nguyet Lam, as she attempted to flee the house with her 8-year-old son, who was Han Truong’s brother. Thao Lam, who was not related to any of those in the house that day, then shot himself, but survived and was taken to a hospital.
