JUST IN: The U.S. Department of Justice will investigate the law enforcement response to the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas. - Reuters

I’ve seen a lot of people say how cops can’t be charged for not stopping a crime. And I get that … it’s stupid, but I get it.

But these officers were actively stopping others from doing anything. Plenty of civilians had to be tackled, cuffed, tazed. They even halted the federal agents / border patrol team from going in (until, IIRC, they went in anyways?).

Is this not being an accomplice? Or aiding and abetting? They didn’t just do nothing, they actively halted others from helping. And I know cops are held to a different standard so maybe not, but idk… if a civilian tackled a cop rushing into a crime scene, the civilian would definitely be charged.
