My true belief, though, is that politicizing something makes everyone instantly go insane. If the DNC and RNC both agreed to give half their funding to GiveWell-recommended charities, America could elect the exact same people and save on the order of 105 lives. If I could talk about how blacks commit crime at a disproportionately high rate without being called a racist, and this is probably what BLM is actually measuring when they (correctly) point out that blacks are disproportionately killed by police, then we might actually be able to address the root of the problem. (Further reading.) If feminists (who want more women in STEM) and men in STEM (who want women in STEM) could realize they want the exact same thing and start collaborating, instead of attacking each other for being sexist sexists who sexism a lot/trying to punish innocent men, we might actually be able to address the problem instead of no headway since 2000.

That is, my real political view is don't have politics.
