50-75% of COVID-19 cases are completely asymptomatic but contagious (a whole city got tested in Italy, ~3k population)

I’m not sure if you misinterpreted my post but I am certainly not a doomsday poster. I’m saying it’s too late to contain it like they did in South Korea because that’s the example that came up. There’s a reason why their mortality rate is .8 while other places are at 4% and Italy at 7%.

Yes, if we act now everything will be ok eventually and we will survive and recover. Even so it’s ok to face the facts. Let’s not lie and compare ourselves to a country that did everything different then we did.

If our government takes decisive action now we can still minimize the deaths. But if not, we will end up like Italy. All we can do now and lower the curve for those infected so hospitals don’t get overwhelmed. I have family members who are doctors and nurses and I worry for them. I worry for all the people who’s lives will be changed by this virus.
