5GB of free iCloud storage space is totally insufficient for 2019

It blows my mind that a MacBook Pro is $1300 and comes with 128gb of storage. I can go out right now and buy a terabyte SSD for my windows laptop for $150.

I bought a USB drive with 128GB of storage on it for $20. My PC has 1TB of NVMe PCIe 3.0x4 for $110.

Apple feels that upgrading from 128GB to 1TB is worth $800. Meaning you're paying over $1 per GB of storage to upgrade from 128GB to 1TB. Apple charges 10x more for storage than if you were to outright buy an m.2 NVMe (which depending on the drive, will give better read/write speeds than Apple's drives - even though they are soldered in). Ridiculous. I'm upgrading my 2015 macbook pro using an aftermarket adapter and aftermarket ssd because of this.
