I had just turned 11. By the time people knew what was happening I remember turning it on in math class. We watched the first tower come down live then the teacher changed it. I had just gone to disney world with my family that summer before. Next time I flew I knew the world had changed, but it was still another few years until I fully understood how much. When I was 10 I went to disney world and I still remember how lax air port security was, it wasn't something you planned for, it was maybe 10 minutes to get through at Charlotte in NC, but you didn't have to get to the airport 3 hours before your flight to make sure you were in time. My dad went to see me, my mom, her girlfriend, any my siblings off and he got through security without a boarding pass.

That day, the terrorists won and what was freedom in the USA died. I'm sure people will disagree with me, but we were still very free on 9/10 and 9/12 we were less so. The terrorists wanted to disrupt our lives, and travel within the USA has never been the same since.

We killed Bin Laden, but he still won that day. That is still the exact day we went from challenging our enemies to take us on to letting them win.
