Adults of reddit who were depressed kids or teens, what is it like to be here when you didn't expect to make it this far? What would you tell your younger self if you could?

Never believed I would make it until 30. I think this is normal when you are 14 but in your mid 20's I guess it is better to see a perspective for yourself . Went through a very confusing time back then and finally tried to expose myself to the world and really do something. Started with therapy and really stupid things like dangerous sports, getting into trouble a little bit and hitting on girls like a complete idiot. I learned a lot of stuff about me and the World and finally was able to meet some wonderful people and keep them as friends. Also found a girl who loves me. I'm now in my 30s, in a stable relationship, with some good friends and some really nice memories. I also really feel I might have a fullfilling career soon, not just jumping from job.

The most important thing I learned was, that the way I feel is almost 99% the result of the way I act. This is still big for me and I'm extemely happy I took all the small steps.
