I'm beginning to think most humans just don't possess "the antinatalist factor(s)"; whatever it is (though my hypothesis is that it is largely epigenetic).

Riddle me this: an average 8 year old in North America who hasn't had sex ed looks at the world around them and sees unfairness. When the kid asks about it they are told that the world isn't a fair place and it just is the way it is. Their immediate conclusion is along the lines of "if the game is unfair and can't be changed, then new players should be saved from having to play it." Meanwhile, it is the humans who are usually dealt that unfairness the most who fail to reach that same conclusion and who perpetuate the cycle the most.

These are the kinds of things that keep me up at night.
