Ah yes, gotta make sure your underage love interest doesn’t make your male hero seem like a creep. So close to a realization.

Gaetz isn’t accused of just sleeping with an underage girl. He’s accused of sex trafficking, or at least he is suspected of sex trafficking. The accusation is that he might have given her a fake Id and crossed state lines with her for the purpose of getting her to have sex with someone, not necessarily him.

All I can say is I hope this really is a mistake or a blackmail attempt like he’s claiming. If it really happened then this is by far a new low for a member of Congress in a very long time.

I know this isn’t the right subreddit to be pedantic, but there is an important distinction that I don’t think anyone should lose sight of.
