i’m female and a writer and i feel extremely called out. writing definitely is about control to some extent, just in the sense that you construct every element, which is why something like RP would never work for me (tried once and ended up writing dialogue punchlines for the other person because it came with my character’s setups so naturally) and even the specific details like the abuse/rescue patterns. although i got into hurt/comfort through rescue fantasies of an abusive childhood. but yeah. bad guys ft the transplanted and played-up dark parts of yourself, good guys ft your most idealistic and open-hearted sides with only the most forgivable or balanced-out character flaws swooping in and saving the day. the only thing is that the rescuer/rescued need to switch positions equally or it annoys me. fuck one-sided relationships
