All we have is a couple of tasteless jokes and one time he asked if she would rehome her, to which OOP said no, to which he "took rather well" and even said "If it's so important to you, I'll try" which you seem to have ignored. Nothing else happened before the incident in OOP's post. So when did he try hard?
That and... Well, if OOP always reacts the way she did in her post when it comes to her
cat... I can sort of understand why BF would feel second best.
BF is a dick when it comes to the cat. Sure. Doesn't mean that you can say that he
lacks empathy or that he'll abuse OOP or the cat. The other person who answered to you is right: we just have the OOP's POV, you can't claim that someone is a certain way from just one clearly biased post on Reddit.
