AITA for getting my fiance's family gifts that were too personal for Christmas when I'm new to them?

NTA Those were very thoughtful gifts and you absolutely did not overstep.

I think I know what’s going on:

I get the feeling his family has a history of controlling Noah because they know he’s the smart, kind, college-educated one, and they don’t like the way he pays attention to you now.

So they’re trying to find something wrong with you and using your lack of self-confidence and difficult past against you so they can control you as well as Noah.

If you’re going to stay in that family you need to learn self-confidence and to stick up for yourself.

To the one who said you overstepped get them generic gifts from now on. To the one who snapped back “no wonder your family left you” don’t even look at her. She deserves none of your attention at all.

I would limit your contact with the family to begin with until they learn some respect. Because they’re going to continue to find something wrong with you to separate you from Noah.

Good luck.
