AITA for not agreeing to my daughter going on a trip because it interferes with school?

I would love to learn more about this unschooled thing. Didn't even know that existed, and it sounds crazy to me. I don't mean that in an insulting way, I've just never thought people allow their children to go without schooling.

Does that mean that you left them without math/science/reading/English teaching until highschool? And instead focused on practical life skills through travelling and exploring (like motor skills, common sense, communication, bargaining, etc)? When did they learn how to read?

That sounds interesting. Maybe I'd consider homeschooling/unschooling my kid. I think a lot you learn in actual schools are useless, and practical knowledge plus only English/math/reading/science is the best concoction.
