She wanted a place to live, she in no way indicated she wanted to make amends with her father, she just wanted somewhere to stay, I'm not denying OP was an asshole during the marriage and during the daughter's childhood, although it seems like spun logic for her to treat her dad like shit even after he clean up his act and then just expect him to give her a place to stay

I understand family is family and all that, but on the same token, OP cleaned their act up, they got off alcohol and were betrayed by his ex-wife, and then despite the fact that he was clean, his daughter still decided to treat him like shit.

But the minute she needs a place to stay, she goes to her father like nothing ever happened.
