OP, if you read this know that your parents’ financial beliefs are skewed. Yes, it’s good to follow-up and make sure your uncle didn’t expect money to be owed to him. There is also nothing wrong with teaching your teenager financial responsibility or expecting them to work reasonable hours. It is, however, absolutely a parent’s or caretaker’s duty to make sure that their family is healthy, safe, and CLEAN to the best of their ability. You should not be embarrassed to ask for something so basic and necessary as a tampon. Your needs are valid. Watch out for yourself, it seems like your uncle is trying to help out in that regard.
