AITA for ruining thanksgiving?

Here’s the problem: the family doesn’t like her, they see her as worse than the previous girlfriend. The boyfriend obviously doesn’t.

What did this act change? Now she’s been cemented as worse, and sabotaged her relationship, which she seems to care about in some regard.

She didn’t stand up for herself, she bowed to their opinion of her and met their expectations. She obviously knew this was petty because she didn’t tell her partner because she knew he would disagree.

An adult standing up for themselves would draw a line and end the relationship if their partner kept refusing to take their side. Did this probably feel good in the moment? Sure, I bet it did. But she created even more problems for herself.

I think this was pretty immature, especially for a 30+ year old. Why live for this kind of drama, just dump the guy if you obviously don’t trust him, and move on with your life.
