Might be tough to understand how her feelings were hurt. But try to turn down people the same way you would hope a woman who you found extremely attractive but wasn’t interested in you.

Chances are you don’t really have a grasp of her since you have been out of contact for so long. A couple of hours mingling at a party is hardly a sampling of what someone is like especially if they are drinking and trying to impress someone they have nostalgia for.
