Yes, that’s exactly why I’m wondering if I’m in the wrong. On the surface I don’t feel like it’s my fault for saying the joke and telling him to fuck off, but I’m also kind of like “well if I just would’ve kept my mouth shut in the first place, and then not told him to fuck off, we wouldn’t be in this situation.” The joke was iffy (as in I knew there was at least some chance he’d be anywhere between slightly annoyed to pretty pissed), but I knew for a fact that telling him to fuck off was going to make him mad. I honestly didn’t expect the joke to piss him off to that extent though. I figured he’d just roll his eyes and tell me to shut up.
