To be honest, you are as good as I am. Although that is not a really high bar in the sense of religious piety. (Just try to remember how to perform salat properly. That is the most important part of your spirituality.)

and i think my faith is strong enough to sustain all the changes but i just want to right my wrongs to ensure that I dont go astray.

Most important thing for you is to find a group of like-minded Muslims that share your values and can offer support and sympathy. There are a lot of abhorrent things that Muslims would do (such as espousing and supporting misogynistic and patriarchal values) that can weaken your iman. In that case, you really want to associate "Islam" with something positive and constructive; it at least has to have some positive effect on you and the world. The best way is to experience that. Islam, hopefully, should be more than our own ideas and negative experiences.

Remember Allah is sovereign and merciful.
