I am now a big boy with a big boy job. What are some underrated things I need in my apartment?

I'm assuming you live by yourself now and wanna spend a little to enjoy your success a bit.. so here are some tips I've learned from living by myself for 8 years.

Toilet:

  • Plunger. You'll probably never need it but the day will come when your toilet is clogged and you'll be grateful you bought one.

  • Cleaning your toilet once every 2 weeks (assuming you aren't at home all day) is a lot easier than once every 2 months.

  • Sinktop organizers. Boxes and storage for all your shit on your table will make things look more organized.

  • Hand soap typically last for 2+ months for me. Get something a little nicer instead of supermarket brand..

  • Towels should match. You can play around with shades or complementing colors and patterns

Living Space:

  • Rhomba saves me from Vacuuming everyday (2 Cats) I now vacuum once every 2 weeks.

  • Rule of thumb for decorating is neutral colors (usually matching) for your key furniture. Couch, TV Cabinet, Dining table. It's your accessories should match.. Rug, cushions, etc.

All furniture in my apartment is either Dark brown (floors and photoframes), white(Dining table, storage, bedframe, tv cabinet etc.), Grey cloth couch and an assortment of different shades of green (plants, carpet, cushions, bath mat, etc.).

  • Clutter starts with one sheet of paper left on the table.. Things just pile up and add on. Biggest part of learning to live by myself is that there is no one here to pick up after me. You leave something somewhere.. it stays there. FOREVER... Pick up after yourself. Things should go in boxes or shelves, drawers and cabinets.

Bedroom:

  • Proper closets.. Suit Racks. Tie drawers.. Compartments for cuff links. Underwear drawer. Everything is neatly stored when I open my shit.. Great way to start the day.

  • Get proper bedsheets with a high threadcount 1500+ feels great.. girls love it.. take care of yourself.

Kitchen:

  • Cook. Women love a man who can cook. You can save money and eat healthier by cooking your own meals anyway. Recipes are easy to follow.

  • Lots of herbs, sauces, condiments are essential to cooking. Stock up on them.

  • Unless you're well versed in cooking in the kitchen. Stick to nonstick pots and pans.

  • Never use a knife or fork or anything metal on your nonstick.

  • Buy Silicon spatulas spoons, etc. For cooking make sure they can take heat above 220 degrees Celsius or that shit will melt if you leave it in oil.

  • Ovens are awesome. Get an oven. Almost 60% of things i make involve an oven.

  • Clean as you cook. That way you don't have 50 things to wash afterwards.

That's all I can think of right now..
