A movie where the empire is made to be the good guys could be interesting. I could see a potential future imperial solider seeing his family get blown up by Saw Gerrara’s Rebels in an attack, and joining up. Maybe they come from a planet not subjugated by the empire but more aligned with them. Super technologically advanced society that it benefits the empire more to align diplomatically then just take over the planet. So it’s people wouldn’t hate the empire and join up as loyal troopers.

I feel like for it to work it would have to be dark and gritty, like Saving Private Ryan but in the outer rim. It would have to be rated R and Disney wouldn’t go for a movie where the protagonists (even unwittingly) is doing the evil bidding of the Empire. Unless it all came crashing down in the end and the trooper finally sees the evil of the empire.
