After you die, your senses end. You can't taste, smell, feel, hear, see (Epicurus). Your contribution to everything has been made. Everybody has some impact (Plutarch), even though its not much after all (Cicero's "Scipio's Dream). Besides these aspects of life, one of our main end goals in life is simple happiness (Aristotle). Martyrdom might sound beautiful (Homer's Iliad), but I imagine death to be quite empty and inferior to life (Homer's Odyssey). Sometimes your family, your country, your people and your beliefs need you for protection (My friend in Peshmerga told me). Sometimes you don't struggle to promote war, but to find peace (a gerilla told me).

If there is a problem at all... It is with the wretchedness of those who commit crimes, not with those who they are committed against (Seneca). They lack Justice (Hesiod), Temperance (Socrates) and they have an excess (Aristotle / Temple of Apollo) of courage.
