Amazing app store, why is this so difficult for everyone else?

...The Linux ecosystem has had an "app store" for ages already?

Fuck, if you want bad thumbnails and a crapload of HTML, CSS, and Javascript just to do a paragraph description that already comes with the packages, that's fine...

Buuut I'm gonna just shrug at this one. Want programs on the Linux Masheen? Open a simple program (on most mainstream distros) and type in vaguely what you want, then hit search, then install the thing, and see if it works.

If it doesn't, repeat.

Doing this anywhere else would involve dodgy websites, programs that might turn your box into a bitcoin miner, etc. Fuck that.

Go play with your mobile phone if you want "app stores" - preferably on a nice island, with dodgy satellite internet, with constant overcast skies, and solar all around to recharge your kit.

Convergence heading towards dumbing things down for people on inferior devices shouldn't be the norm; I won't support it.

Reckon Android can run a package manager as well as anyone else; Jolla apparently uses zypper and/or YaST.
