Angela Merkel now understands how the rest of us feel when Donald Trump talks.

Whether you like it or not, everyone on this earth is territorial, animals and humans alike. Saying that nations are artificial constructs is not going to change the fact that life survives with territory, and thus, territories that have a stronger bond have a higher chance of survival. No one gives a shit about what you learned in your philosophy 101 class. Things are "fractured" in such a way because that is just the way things are. Sure, in an ideal society, there wouldn't be nations and we'd sing around a camp fire and chief on the peace pipe till the end of human existence. However, in real life, we need to stick together to survive and reproduce, and people will generally reproduce with people who they are similar with - voala you have a nation. Sure I wasn't a founding father of my county, neither is 100% of the living population in the United States. But believe it or not there are people in this country who admire those founding fathers, and the people who fought and died for this country. I am proud of those people, and I am proud to call them and myself American. Therefore, I have pride . Try and realize for a moment that we can't exist without borders. There is no such thing as peace. People are different and want to stay with their own kind. Believe me I wish there was peace, but humans have been at war since the dinosaurs went into extinction. We have no reason to coexist. There is no conflict that we need to be together to fight. Until there is, you have to deal with it.
