Angela Merkel reportedly had to explain the 'fundamentals' of EU trade to Trump 11 times

While I see what you're saying, and I admit there is some truth to your perception of this sub (especially lately), It sounds like you may be generalizing a bit.

This sub is an aggregator of user submitted content, and not the actual news sources. Sometimes bullshit articles get posted, and sometimes unverified assertions get posted in the comments, and sometimes the less skeptical of us on here fall for it. But it's the individual's responsibility to challenge the credibility of their news (whether that be from Fox news or an article posted on reddit) and do there best to discern fact from fiction, and at least reddit gives us a platform to discuss and scrutinize the information.

Fortunately, a lot (obviously not all) of users here seem open to challenging their assumptions, and putting aside their ego's, if it's in pursuit of the truth. OP updating his comment to acknowledge he/she was duped by fake news should speak volumes to this point.

Sorry a/b the wall of text. Didn't expect to write so much on this.
