Any Carouhell stories here?

I promise this is worth it. I think....

Was not able to get Jay Chou concert tix last year. Was a little hung up because I’m crazy over him and I missed his previous concert (thank you sportshub for postponing it suddenly) but I couldn’t find company as well so. Some time passed, on this one fine day, I decided to browse carouhell just to check the tix out out of fun. See how much these idiots are selling.

Someone was selling a pair of CAT 1 tickets at a profit margin of $8 or so per ticket? GOT EXCITED. New listing and seller says still available. Tried my luck to ask around because TICKETS. CAT 1 some more. Found a friend, and a close one. I didn’t expect her to agree.

We deliberated whether to buy the tix because what if it’s a scam but deal will be done via meet-up. Anyway seller said tickets were a surprise for his girlfriend but she CMI. My friend went to meet him (I was overseas during the whole thing), gave him the money in exchange of the electronic tickets. I told seller to mark the tix listing as sold when he had not and he did. I thought it was weird. Then he left me a positive feedback, I returned the favor.

A few days later I had those ads notification from carouhell m. I felt I needed to check out the seller’s profile and IIRC he had a same tix listing (not the one I saw) and a new feedback. I PM the girl who left the feedback asking what she bought. She was reluctant to tell me at first wtf. What? Concert tickets. Whose? Jay Chou. Seat number? SAME. This girl helped her Friend (let’s call her Miss Denial) to buy the tix.

Cut the story short, I filed a report on carouhell. Carouhell disabled his account. What else right.. Then made an online police report. When I finally got back Singapore after two months, my friend and I went to the police station blah blah. Police told us they couldn’t catch the scammer now because we haven’t gone to the concert thus could not verify it’s a scam. We already knew we were scammed wtf. OK SO WE WAITED. Meanwhile we updated Miss Denial about our police case progress, she didn’t seem to care much. She didn’t file a report too.

Finally the concert day. My friend and I decided to reach sports hub a few hours earlier at two plus? Turned out there’s a girl already sitting there. No surprise, Miss Denial, who still believed she could get in lol. You think you first to queue means you can enter the stadium? My friend and I raised the matter to the sports hub counter staff while she just sat there protecting her number one place in q. Of course the tickets were denied because they were photoshopped wtf. It was not even a problem of selling twice. It was just fake. Btw sports hub counter is damn far from the doors and our door is the last few? My friend was nice enough to want to walk back to tell the girl that we could not enter. Any one of us.

Next my friend and I visited the police station again. This time there’s evidence! Blah blah blah. With some investigation, police managed to locate a few suspects said it was a syndicate thing. Asked if we could get our money back? It was $360 per ticket wtf. Police said hard, most probably cannot. We had 0.2517% hope. Since only my friend saw the scammer, only she went down to try to recognize but failed. It had been a while and she admitted the scammer is quite good-looking so she was shy and didn’t look properly WTF FRIEND.

You know how it ended right? Four? five? of them were from NTU/SMU in their early twenties. The punishment was only probation. No jail time. I wonder what their parents felt?

We found out from the news just like you all. And this is the end of my story. Stupidest thing I’ve ever done.

And I’m just curious can companies view such “criminal records” and does it have any impact on considerations to hire them lol probably not.

TLDR: Carouhell is hell.
