Okay so not inspirational or whatever but I got my first serious girlfriend when I was 14. She was my first everything and we hung out loads and went to the same school. When we were 16 things got really rocky and she started texting this guy. She broke up with me for some BS reason and started going out with him the next month.

I felt sooo shit for months and didn't know how I was gunna forget about her she went to my school so I saw her everyday. Well summer came and I didn't see her for ages. Returned to school for sixth form (higher education in England for 16-18year olds) and I sat next to a girl who I'd never spoken to. Her friend was my old old ex who absolutely hated me. We quickly became friends and had so many common interests. Fast forward a couple months and we were going out. We have now been going out for 4 years and both study history at the same uni. We have never had a proper fight and I've never cried or felt mistreated in the relationship. Although it's not perfect it's pretty close. Now I look back and think about how I felt 5 years ago and it feels stupid. It really hurts but one day you'll look back at it and won't feel much-so take it from me you may think they were the one but there is always someone who you are more compatible with!
