When I've already thoroughly thought out my options and made my decisions, I get annoyed if people tell me what I've already been through in my mind ten times, especially if its obvious- kinda makes my intelligence feel undermined. But new input, I don't mind. I'm definitely open to alternate perspectives, and changing my opinion with new information.

I think it makes zero sense to not care what others think to the point of being rude. Having a good reputation and links to people who see you as having made them feel good about themselves will get you places. When someone's oblivious I may be rude cause they won't know I'm being rude, but I do try to be polite most of the time. Literally got my current job because of someone I knew in college that I was nice to a few times. Didn't even finish college, all I did was be nice to another kid and I was the one they thought of to recommend for a job.
