Has anyone eaten at Kona yet?

I am not going back anytime soon.

Just ate there on Friday for the first time with my family and girlfriend, and the experience was not impressive. The chicken sandwich was fine, way too sweet with the brussel sprout slaw. My girlfriend got the kimichi poke bowl, and she believed it was not the right combination of ingredients for what it should have been, leading to a poor taste.

The appetizers were the only good thing about the meal. We got graham cracker calamari and the chorizo nachos. That was quite tasty.

Our server was not the greatest. I showed up 15 minutes late while my family had been there before for drinks. Before I could even sit in the (tight) booth, he asked if I was ready to order. I said I needed a few minutes, and then returned about 10 minutes later. He demonstrated a lack of attention, haste, and care throughout the evening.

The oddest thing to me about Kona was that there was a general lack of bussing and clean up after tables finished. I noticed on at least three different occasions tables have their checks, plates, dirty dishes, etc. left on cleared well after the group has left the restaurant. One time it took 15 minutes to come clean it. I would think for a busy Friday night they would want to come clear it quickly; however, only one more group came in and was served at those tables.

Overall, Bridge Park has not seen some good luck with these restaurants the past few years. It needs to turn around quickly.
