Anyone else can't stand urban areas?

Based on reading comments on here, this living in cities versus rural/remote can't really be generalized.

I can see how some cities would be pleasant to live in, while other not so much. I am a Miami native, and can tell you that it's mostly crap for several reasons. In addition to the usual congestion, and squeezing, the people here are mostly immigrants from South and Central America, and Caribbean.

Lack to embrace American culture here is a real bummer, and customs of most of these people are nonchalant, rude, no manners, and ignorance. The plus side to living in Miami is that labor is cheap, which means that one can save money off of services, repairs, and installations.

I have had the privilege to live in rural Ohio and was thrilled; for me it way better than living in Miami, but also remember how destitute the local economy was. People didn't have a worthy income, and there weren't so many options.

Fast forward all these years, I can't leave Miami because of my kid, his mother lives here.. so what I've done is moved to the agricultural area further south, in a house similar to the one I lived in at Ohio.. while long distance commuting to work and back everyday.. country living while having immediate access to the city. it's a countermeasure that has really worked out for me and solved the day to day anxiety I once had living in Miami.
