Is anyone else disliking the toddler stage more than newborn?

I definitely get this! My main complaints are:

  • The whining. Oh God the whining

  • Wanting to be picked up and carried everywhere, and throwing a fit if she doesn't get her way.

  • Being able to articulate, very precisely, what she wants and then throwing a fit if she doesn't get her way

  • Sleep regression that has resulted in her being unable/unwilling to fall asleep in her room without her father and I there.

  • Tantrums because she can't go outside, she is outside, outside is not inside, or that I won't let her poop in the grass like the dog.

The combination of big opinions and mega resistance when those opinions can't be accommodated are definitely challenging to me. But then she'll recite a book from memory or sing me her bedtime songs or list off everything she did at daycare that day and and I can't really decide whether I love this stage or hate it.
