Preschool

We have a pre preschool program through the part district. It’s 45 mins in a classroom setting. They color/play with toys/socialize/etc. I typically just hang around and use the time to read or take work meetings from my car/the hallway.

We did it to prepare her for preschool after hearing horror stories from our neighbor about how their kid freaked out going to preschool for the first time. And still even after three weeks cries/hates it. With her being a pandemic baby too, we wanted to make sure she was comfortable being away from us. Both husband and I are home 24/7 basically.

We also enrolled her into a dance class that’s 45mins solo first which I think prepared her for the 45mins classroom setting. She didn’t even care that I left. I watched her through the two way mirror too and she was completely fine the whole time. She comforted the other kids, which they looked at her like she was an alien.

Pandemic babies have me scared tbh. My daughter is speaking at a 3/4 year old level at age 2 and most of her peers aren’t talking or communicating yet. I don’t want to test her above her age grade either due to emotionally not being ready for those types of things (maybe in HS, but not this young). I’m scared that most kids will be like what I’m seeing in her classes/groups (delayed) which will mean my daughter will need to wait for others to catch up/might get bored and turn to trouble.

This isn’t me bragging either. This is me being a concerned parent and am aware parent, btw. It’s something I am noticing and have to make sure I keep an eye on.
