Do you regret not taking a conventional path in life?

I took an unconventional path (living in East Asia for a decade). I didn't fall into the same trap as others who did similar because during that time I did a master's degree, started a business, paid off my degrees, and saved up enough for a reasonable down payment on a home and pay cash for a Corolla when I moved back home.

It was a lot of fun. I still ended up married, with a child, and in a grind trying to catch up on retirement and checking LinkedIn everyday. At very close to 40, I'm happier with the conventional lifestyle and might be even happier without the decade abroad.

I don't know what you studied, but being a digital nomad is now possible, and I know quite a few people personally who do it.
