AP calls it. Murphy vs. Guadagno for governor

But you get the idea of what i'm saying.

Yes, but I am saying you pick and choose what political movements and realities you want to face.

It is very true that third parties can't win because of the nature of winner takes all electoral colleges. Its also true that because of this, unless you are in a so called "battleground" state, your individual vote means nothing and can usually be safely thrown away on a protest vote without risk.

What the Hillary people absolutely hate is any dissent against her. You cannot run an "Anybody but X" campaign and win. They never do well, ever.

What most smart progressives are doing, including Paul Murphy, is run on strong progressive platforms, some of which would make FDR proud. FDR was a badass and his political prowess was unquestionable. Did FDR ever run on the "Hey I'm not Hoover" platform, despite the fact Hoover was as epic fuckups as Republicans are? No. He ran on the "I'm a baddass progressive asskicker, and when I'm not wooping nazi ass, I'm getting American asses back to work, and fighting for social justice, and I'm gonna make you like it".
