My sister had a psychotic break after only having indulged two or three times, at age sixteen. She ended up in a very secure mental hospital for weeks. She was then diagnosed with schizophrenia. We do not have a family history of schizophrenia but we were told by many Psychiatrists that marijuana use can trigger psychosis and other disorders in anyone, depending on their susceptibility. Just like any other drug.

I am not saying that marijuana caused this to happen as such, however my sister was more susceptible.

Would she of had a psychotic break if she has never smoked it? We will never know but what we do know is that it was a factor in her now being “seriously messed up”
