Help! My employee had a mental breakdown

You could contact a lawyer or you could just start with FMLA leave for this person, as part of FMLA leave you get them on to short-term disability and then help them transition a long-term disability. All of this liability shit that this other person is talking about is a concern but the risk is generally really low in my opinion, I'm not a lawyer and it's not legal advice but in this situation I would just ignore all the information that you got non-direct from that person and simply just start working with their FMLA leave with their emergency contact. It's really fucking easy. I'm not a lawyer and I wouldn't suggest that you get one in this situation. Again ignore all the information that wasn't given directly to you and just assume they're going to get FMLA leave and ask him if they want short and long-term disability if you're able to help them with that. The Ada shit doesn't really come into play because that's more about giving them a reasonable accommodation at this point my understanding is and correct me if I'm wrong that they are not returning to work?
