You would think the gamer community would be warmer than this. Instead we're being seen as a bunch of unwelcoming whiny children stomping their feet at literally nothing.

Yeah...adding a character based off of a real person who has not one iota to do with the series into an RPG with decades of history and all of the fictional units are from the other games and like RPGs isn't breaking the immersion. Nope, nothing weird about that.

Being a gamer/fan has nothing to do with it, there are probably 50 people who worked on or influenced the games who are more deserving of a character than some pop idol. Why should she get put in just because she's a "fan"? Maybe it will bring in players but I can assure you 99.9% of them are going to quit shortly after and/or rage at Gumi because they couldn't get her unit.

Imagine if they added Barney into the next FIFA or NFL game, EA would get burnt to the ground by all of their hardcore fans. I don't have anything against her as a person but shit like this opens the door for more ridiculous things to get added.
