Atheist's of reddit, when did you stop believing in god?

I went to a Catholic primary school and we were learning about Jesus going into the temple and flipping his shit. On the same day I'd got wound up because someone had nicked my red eyes black dragon Yu-Gi-Oh card and been told off for getting angry and that I was sinning. Me, as a cocky 7 year old with no social etiquette called them out for the double standards, I can't get mad when my shiny card gets nicked but jesus can when someone nicks his temple. Anyhow, even though I was probably out of line in how I addressed them, the only answer they could give me was Jesus can get angry because he's righteous but we can't because we're sinful and apparently mere humans can't have truly righteous anger. When I asked why that was I got the fabled line "it's God's way".

Thinking about it it's probably the get out of jail cards the teachers or priests would use when they didn't know the answer to a question "It is God's plan", "It's what Jesus would want" "WWJD" and so on.

Wow, this has helped me realise I have a lot of repressed anger towards the Catholic Church. Cheers
