Atheists who later became religious, what made you convert?

ok here's my own proverb:

proverbs are as good until a better one comes.

Actually I would be curious to know what kind of religious approach or method did someone started that needs to be stopped afterwards i.e. in order of not becomming sick (so to say).

It really depends what Your religions commands You and whether it strikes against e.g. Your essential needs like no marriage of monks and priests.

For me religion is an intellectual decision, somewhere remotely remniscent of philosophy in terms of "realizing" or getting another viewpoint of reality but also of course following the rules. It also depends what religion Youre following and what Your own decisions are: e.g. just reading&following the bible vs. being a catholic and following the dogmas.

At least in my case (believing and following only the quran(not hadiths) and the bible) neither of those is impairing me in my everyday life. So its not that religion in general is taking Your freedom away or interrupting the various circumstances in ones life.

Lets say that You could overdo things untill they aren't bearable anymore my religious beliefes quranism i.e.following only the quran(not hadiths) and the bible actually
