I wouldn’t be surprised if he does feel it. All this shit happened when he was 17. Imagine going through that clusterfuck and all that happened after. Whether he has any idea how to process it, how or if or when to talk about it, especially in light of being offered money and some kind of future when all other options were closed off…I wouldn’t bet on it. Or maybe he feels nothing and blah blah Nuremberg trials quote because those are totes the same thing.

Most of the Redditors going on about how he has no empathy likewise have absolutely none themselves. Which doesn’t mean anyone should feel sorry for him, just that if you can’t fathom how this string of events might fuck up a teenager and maybe leave them a mite unable to process things in a healthy way, then don’t talk about “empathy.”

And “well he deserves it” doesn’t change that. Just gives you an out. Next liberal Redditors will be cheering for more for-profit prisons, as long as it gets those people off their streets.
